Have a look at <http://www.mhonarc.org/mharc/>.  It includes a
mbox-month-pach script which should allow you to import your large
mailbox into mharc's raw mail archive format.

mharc provides integration with Namazu to provide full-text searching.

A separate list, mharc-users@mhonarc.org, exists for mharc users.
