Thanks guys. I have extkbd installed now, but it doesn't solve it. Are
there other small things to think about (which app, how long should I
wait before type etc.)?

I have not tried a keyboard or mouse with H-E-N, but I have used
several flash drives and external HDDs with no problems. Maybe tonight
when I am home I'll try to connect a keyboard.
Also try using an externally-powered USB hub.
Is this the right place to ask this question? It would be a big deal for me
if I got this working.
