I also had plenty of issues installing Fennec Beta on Maemo. What I do is resort to terminal. Yesteday after App Manager added the Beta catalog and said Fennec was already installed (it was, but B1) I went to Terminal and typed: apt-get install fennec and it quits saying "Silently failing to process handler" (or something of that sort). Then I typed: apt-get upgrade and that happily upgraded it. However, last time I had Fennec installed from the Ovi Repo I had to play a lot with apt-get in order to install the Beta.
