I did try that, exactly like this:

sudo flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1.002_PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin -f -R
.....
Flashing kernel... done.
Sending and flashing rootfs image (173696 kB)...
100% (173696 of 173696 kB, avg. 14012 kB/s)
Finishing flashing... done
CMT flashed successfully

twice.

Then it reboots, shows the flashing orange led. then the sequence of balls as normal.

Then it keeps the sequence of balls (progress) forever.

I am 11 minutes away from completing the eMMC download. 

Should I try that?

Perhaps you could try the Linux command line flasher to flash the kernel
only from e.g. a PR1.2. image?
