The pithy ruminations from Gary on
<Google Voice and Gizmo> were:
=> Are there any Google Voice users on the list? I just noticed recently

Yes. First GrandCentral, now GV.

=> that you can now add a Gizmo number to your phone list on Google Voice.
=> After adding it there, enter your gVoice # in your Gizmo account. The
=> upshot is that now calls from Gizmo will show your gVoice # in Caller ID

I've been doing that for almost 2 years....it's pretty common.

Check out the app "DialCentral"...it's a GV "dial pad" (and access to a listing
of recent calls, transcribed voicemail, etc.) for the Nokia.

One more trick once you've got this set up is not to use the slow &
computationally heavy Gizmo client, but the run a lightweight VOIP client, such
as the default apps that comes with the N810.

Mark

=> and you can get inbound calls for free from the PSTN along with free
=> outbound calls to the U.S. I've tested it out with the Mac app and will
=> try placing/receiving calls from my N800 Gizmo app when I get home tonight.
