I fixed my setting this morning by gconftool -s --type=int /system/osso/dsm/display/display_blank_timeout 120 It would appear that flipclock (or something else maybe) set this to a full day's worth of seconds (84600)! Seems like a silly thing to do but maybe the author(s) had some reason for this...
