Hi Qole, thanks for your response and the links. I will look into the easy-deb-chroot stuff (running Debian since 1996 on all my systems:-). So far I thought chroot is only a toy and openoffice is far too heavy for realworld usage. How enduser friendly is such an installation. E.g. can it be configured that clicking on a ppt document in the browser opens OpenOffice as viewer right away? Do I have to start OO always from the cmd line or is there an easy way to make it showing up in any kind of menue? Many thanks,Rainer Am Freitag, 17.
