Have you tried GPS-Camera v1.0 beta for n800 and n810 running OS2008? It will take pictures and save them as image files even if you don't have GPS installed. http://gps-camera.garage.maemo.org/ BTW, camera v2.9 video beta is a video recording application for the web cam.
