According to comments in the corresponding bug: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2597 The problem happens only when restoring N810 backup to N800 (because they have / need to have different input settings) and it can be worked around by doing following in xterm: gconftool-2 -t bool -s /apps/osso/inputmethod/enable-stylus-im TRUE - Eero
