dual boot with 2007 from device and 2008 from MMC - possible?

Or we could build the newer driver for the old kernel.  This would then allow 
os2007 kernel with both os2007 and os2008 userspace.

I don't understand the cx3110x driver source versions on maemo.  They go 1.1, 
1.2 and 0.8.1 in that order by date?  Is the earliest tarball the one in use 
on .18or are they all for .21?

Where can I get the .21 kernel source from? and can we xcompile without 
scratchbox?  I have a number of arm xcompilers on my box.
