Excape key Period

I don't think Drew's talking about the keyboard hardkey ESC; he's talking
about an "escape character". By default, ~ is the "escape character" for
OpenSSH. One can do things like hit ~. to disconnect, ~C to access an SSH
commandline for editing port forwards, etc.

I've actually had the same problem as Drew, but I've been using the soft
keyboard, so I think that's the cause of my issue.

Drew, have you tried changing the escape character with the -e commandline
option? That might prove helpful...
