Look for the "Query The Device" section of the page. You are doing everything right. At this point push the power button. Note you cannot be charging the device so a full charge--just to make sure--is required before flashing. This is one of the oddities of flashing. Having the power off then turning the power on helps your computer's software recognize the device. I don't know if there's an explanation why the device functions this way. > > So I checked to make sure that it is showing that its hooked up to the > USB port > > Jul 16 23:57:59 stryder kernel: usb 4-1: new full speed USB device > using uhci_hcd and address 4 > Jul 16 23:58:00 stryder kernel: usb 4-1: new device found, > idVendor=0421, idProduct=0105 > Jul 16 23:58:00 stryder kernel: usb 4-1: new device strings: Mfr=1, > Product=2, SerialNumber=0 > Jul 16 23:58:00 stryder kernel: usb 4-1: Product: Nokia 770 (Update mode) > Jul 16 23:58:00 stryder kernel: usb 4-1: Manufacturer: Nokia > Jul 16 23:58:00 stryder kernel: usb 4-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 > choice > > So I go into /proc/sys/usb/devices/4-1 and cat configuration which > shows the 770 in update mode > > stryder:/sys/bus/usb/devices/4-1 # cat configuration > Nokia 770 (Update mode) > > So at this point I am at a loss as to why flash-2.0 is not showing > that its not plugged into my system.
