Ahh, damnit people. :) Use the repositories as repositories!

Repositories (or "Catalogues" as they are called in the Application manager
UI) are your friend. You want to use them by configuring them in the
"Application catalogue" dialog of the Application manager and then install
your stuff by clicking on "Install new Applications".
You really want to do that.

You don't want to use "Install from file". Ever. It is not your friend.
It is the Microsoft way of installing software. It's bad.

If you can't use repositories as repositories for whatever reason, it is
worthwhile to fix that reason first. For example, if your 770 doesn't have
network access, you should fix that and give it network access. Network
access is your friend.

This rant aside, I do actually see the specific problem that osso-xterm
wants to be installed from a repository, but osso-xterm is often the first
thing you need to fix things so that you can make repositories work.

So, I think I will propose to the osso-xterm guys to make a small repository
that contains the four or so packages needed to install osso-xterm, and make
it so that this repository can be copied to a MMC easily and configured in
the Application manager as a file:// type of source. Makes sense?

(Maybe it would be better to just publish instructions for how to do this so
that this small repositories does not need to be maintained.)
