There needs to be a FAQ on this, as this is coming up a lot. You can't hook anything to the 770 without some type of power injector to send 5 volts to the 770 via the USB port. Hub or not, this is the rule as the 770 does not provide power and has no way of recognizing peripherals unless both are provided with external power. The only way to do this is via hardware modification, via a hacked mini USB cable such as the one the 770 ships with connected to an external power source, or by modifying a powered hub to supply power to the host port, as I'm not aware of any that do this by default (Which would be a violation of the USB standard).
