[maemo-users] Linux flasher not working

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Greetings,

Kernel 2.6.14.3 from kernel.org, Debian sid with udev

Following the instructions on:
http://maemo.org/maemowiki/HOWTO_FlashLatestNokiaImageWithLinux

With the flasher command running:
sudo /flasher -F Nokia_770_0.2005.45-8.bin -f -R

I see:
Found image 2nd (length 8576)
Found image secondary (length 79360)
Found image xloader (length 13824)
Found image initfs (length 1567360)
Found image kernel (length 1481728)
Found image rootfs (length 57540608)
Suitable USB device not found, waiting

Then I power up the 770 (which was already connected, no hubs) and
nothing happens. There is nothing in the system log, but dmesg says:

Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
scsi6 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usbcore: registered new driver usb-storage
USB Mass Storage support registered.
usb-storage: device found at 5
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
Vendor: Nokia Model: 770 Rev: 0308
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
SCSI device sda: 125440 512-byte hdwr sectors (64 MB)
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
SCSI device sda: 125440 512-byte hdwr sectors (64 MB)
sda: assuming drive cache: write through
 sda: sda1

But the flasher doesn't do anything, and nothing happens on the 770
other than the popup that says "Connected to USB".

I also tried the steps described in the wiki with the usb_storage module
blacklisted, in case that somehow was preventing flasher from doing
whatever it needs to do. The behavior was the same.

Any ideas?

D.
