What would be a good practice to identify the filesystem overhead for a LVM. This comes in handy when lvreducing filesystems. For example if i want to create a 100G fully usable FS what should be the size of my LV?
That is a question for the filesystem, and has nothing to do with LVM. One method to find out: create a 100G LV, create the filesystem (you don't mention what filesystem you want) on it, mount it, and see how much space is free. _______________________________________________ linux-lvm mailing list linux-lvm@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-lvm read the LVM HOW-TO at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/LVM-HOWTO/
