The problem I described was explained by Neil Brown over a year ago: http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/linux/linux-kernel/2001-00/0762.html But I still have not seen a good solution. Hopefully, I just haven't searched well enough. Does nobody use RAID level 5 with LVM? If this is still a problem, then it's a big showstopper for Linux as a file server, as I see it. - -- Jason Smith Open Enterprise Systems Bangkok, Thailand -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+Q0OXm5qEoSbpT3kRAuBDAJ9W58OCkpq5lkdijjw9tI8HO1zN7gCdGY8e C4O7Q+a02Z1D2wY7rNF07UU= =TDPx -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ linux-lvm mailing list linux-lvm@sistina.com http://lists.sistina.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-lvm read the LVM HOW-TO at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/LVM-HOWTO/
