ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 fan readings

Hi.

I wanted to take a good look at why my Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 only
lists three fan rpm readings out of six. This was last discussed at
http://lists.lm-sensors.org/pipermail/lm-sensors/2013-January/037982.html

I updated the multiplexing patch given at
http://marc.info/?t=132225900800002&r=1&w=2 to work with Linux version
3.17.0-rc5, but that didn't seem to take me any closer to getting to
read the rest of the fan readings. I don't think sensors even uses
the i2c_piix4 module to read the fans it can see currently. I enabled
debug messages for the module and saw none of the messages that
piix4_transaction() would output when running sensors. Nor did having
the module missing seem to affect whether it could read the fans.

I have an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 currently available for testing these and
I've used it to try to probe the sensors. It supports four fans and
Linux can read three of them.

Running sensors-detect gives out pretty much the same results as was
given in that email back in January 2013.

Since then, i2c_piix4 has gained support for "Auxiliary SMBus Host
Controller", does it have anything to do with the fan readings?

Is there anything else I could try?
