Hmmm.  I tried the 2.6.18-rc4 because that is the one the patch is against.
I will grab the -rc6 and see if that works.

The stock Suse kernel that works fine but without support for my chip is
2.6.16.21-0.13-smp.  I have not tried the 2.6.17.11 kernel at all.

I doubt I will get much more done on this this morning, as I have to leave
for work soon.
