License conditions for libsensors

Hi!

I'm working for a company - Kapsch TrafficCom AB - who develops various
devices for electronic road tolling. We have recently turned to the
GNU/Linux platform for some of our embedded applications. The results
so far is very promising. Furthermore, hardware monitoring is crucial
to our system, and we have sucessfully tested the sensors library
( libsensors ) for that purpose.

However, releasing our software under the GPL is not an option at this
time ( and probably never will be ) due to company policies. Besides,
since our software is highly specialized a release under the GPL would,
in my personal opinion, benefit the free software community very little
or nothing.

Is there any possibility at all to deploy the library under a LGPL-like
license? If the answer is a plain "no" we will be forced to look into
some other solution, and we really think that would be a waste.

Regards,
