Did you tested the commands you posted to me? Anyway here they do nothing. I cant see any changes in iwconfig nor in in iw. iw reg get country 00: (2400 - 2494 @ 40), (N/A, 33) (4910 - 5895 @ 40), (N/A, 33) so after my regulatory domain I should be able to change the adapter settings.
No, I did not test them. If they don't work, then you need to debug cfg80211. These things are not a part of the driver. It only does what it is told.
You need to set a proper regulatory domain. Yours says "country 00", which is not right. Mine says
finger@larrylap:~> iw reg get country US: (2402 - 2472 @ 40), (3, 27) (5170 - 5250 @ 40), (3, 17) (5250 - 5330 @ 40), (3, 20), DFS (5490 - 5600 @ 40), (3, 20), DFS (5650 - 5710 @ 40), (3, 20), DFS (5735 - 5835 @ 40), (3, 30) and that 27 dBm exactly matches what iwconfig says.
