As Larry mentioned "in-the-air packets" would be helpful.

In your captured packets, only 54:27:1e:f6:b8:d3 as source to send out DHCP and
ICMP v6 packets, but I don't know if it really sends out, or peer (AP) doesn't
reply the packets.

As your log, I believe it can connect to "MPI Guest" 
" wlp8s0: CTRL-EVENT-CONNECTED - Connection to 6c:f3:7f:10:a4:12 completed"

But, somehow it can't yield IP and then disconnect...
"device (wlp8s0): state change: ip-config -> failed (reason 'ip-config-unavailable', sys-iface-state: 'managed')"

I suggest to set fixed IP address via NM to see if it can work.
