Thx for the reply. And thx to the intel developers for their willingness
to investigate this nevertheless, but seems nothing more will happen
here, which I guess is okay given the circumstances.

#regzbot inconclusive: unsolved in 6.3, but solved in 6.4; not worth
making a fuzz about for 6.3 now, as it will soon be EOL anyway
