Lockup on load of ath5k.ko

I just downloaded the latest ath5k tarball and compiled and installed
it.  My computer locks up when I load the ath5k module.  Here's the

It's the second to the last entry, for the Atheros wireless controller,
that of issue.  If I include this module in
the /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist the computer boots fine.  I don't know how
to get any more debug info out of the system, but if you can suggest
something I'd be more than glad to try.

I'm running Fedora 9 x86_64 with a kernel I compiled myself.  The kernel
doesn't have any special options, I just had to compile it to get my
nvidia driver working.
