Changing your mail to plaintext since the mailing lists don't accept HTML.

Quoting your mail:

"Hi,
I've bought a Sony Vaio Pro 13 which is plagued with wireless problems. After installing the 16.10.0 Windows drivers, I've found a significant improvement, but I don't want to use Windows and the latest Linux drivers and kernel don't seem to help. When will these changes reach the iwlwifi firmware? (or is the issue more complex than that?). I will return the laptop if I can't fix this, so I have a somewhat limited time frame...
Thank you,
Jamie"

There is no alignment whatsoever between the Linux and Windows releases. Besides this, my crystal ball is broken and you didn't get any description of your system nor the issue you are having. If you want someone to help you, it is not the way to go.
