The version number in compat-wireless, compat-drivers and backports does
not says which kernel version this is for, but it says where the code is
from, there is no reason to use compat-wireless-3.3.rc-2.tar.gz with
kernel 3.3, you probably got even older wireless code.

You should use one of these releases, they should work with your kernel 3.3:
http://drvbp1.linux-foundation.org/~mcgrof/rel-html/backports/
