I had (and I have it somewhere) a Broadcom 43227 card. When I was using Debian 6 (I used it for a long time, then I wanted to change, and I changed to Fedora, but now I'll go back to Debian), I had to download and compile the drivers from Broadcom page, because neither wl or b43 drivers made the card work.
