ok simple test case for me:
boot F7 livecd on a laptop with a ipw3945 card.
the iwlwifi driver got loaded....
try to selected WPA from the nm menu ... wait there aren't any :( ...
test with ipw3945 (ieee80211 based) wpa options are back ;)
so can you please tell me which driver you used and how you verifed that
it works?
