I would point you to drivers/net/ibmveth.c (and
drivers/scsi/ibmvscsi/ibmvscsi.c for a SCSI equivalent) that
live very happily in the main part of the tree.  And in fact
having folks like Jeff Garzik keeping the drivers in line with
other network drivers is a very desirable thing.  I would
rather just see these treated as pure network drivers.
