virtual device bus "xen bus"

Hi,

in order for installers and hardware discovery programs
to be able to load the right device drivers, we really
want a virtual device bus in Xen, a'la power5 VIO.

This "xen bus" is on the top of Jeremy's TODO list, but
since I have heard rumors that some of our friends here
might have (some of the) code already it would seem prudent
to check whether that code could be reused.

Reinventing the wheel shouldn't be needed with GPL code,
unless of course rewriting the code ends up being faster
than refactoring the already existing code. Besides, we
all know the (quality) benefits of deploying and reviewing
each other's code ;)

If anybody here has virtual bus code that they would like
to see reused in Xen, please follow up to this mail so we
can get things started soon.

kind regards,

Rik van Riel
