Looking at the lsusb -v output for your device, I noticed that although 
there are 3 configuration descriptors, two of them have 
bConfigurationValue equal to 1 (and have iConfiguration strings saying 
"First").  The third has bConfigurationValue equal to 2 and 
iConfiguration string saying "Second".

This is likely to cause trouble somewhere down the line.
