I am creating a separate series because the above mentioned thread becomes very long. The prerequisite for providing the configfs interface for USB gadgets and all their users is converting them to the new function interface from Sebastian. Just changing the function interface is not enough for gadgets to be converted to configfs, though. After the functions are converted, some more work is required to arrive at a gadget configurable through configfs.
