Summary of the problem: block devices belonging to USB 3.0 external
drives do not disappear from /dev after physical disconnect and
there's no message about the disconnect in system log.

Since we cannot see the continuation of the topic in this list, I'm
wondering if it's being looked into or not.

I was having the same problem in Gentoo, got the same result on a
bisect and was asked to report here:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453904

I tried with kernel 3.8-rc6 yesterday and it wasn't fixed.

I'm sorry for not replying in original thread, but instead starting a
new one since I only subscribed here recently.
