Please start with the usbfs_snoop test mentioned in my earlier email.  
It doesn't matter what patches are applied; what I want to see is what 
happens when the device is _unplugged_.  (If you use no patches at all 
then you may have to run lsusb to make the device show up properly 
before you unplug it.)

Later on I will ask you to try another patch which should fix your 
original problem and also get rid of all error messages about suspend 
failing.
