Did you actually do a runtime suspend test?  What does "lspci -v" show 
for the controller while it is suspended with a device attached?

Not that I know of.  Probably the only way we will find the answer to
this problem is by getting in touch with an engineer at ASUS who knows
what the BIOS is doing wrong.
