Look, I don't know anything more about the specs than you do.  All I 
can do is read them and tell you what I see -- you could easily do the 
same thing for yourself.

In this case, I just searched through the table of contents in the
USB-3 spec to find the section that describes endpoint companion
descriptors.  All I had to do was open the document in Acrobat Reader,
type "endpoint companion" into the search box, and press Enter.  There
was nothing magical about it.
