xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command

With 3 series kernels (this dmesg output is from 3.3.0-rc4) I get "xHCI host not
responding to stop endpoint command" when accessing an external 1 TByte hard
drive on a ASUS M5A97 pro USB3 port. The drive performs ok when used with a
USB2 port. Please advise.

Thanks

NTFS volume version 3.1.
