xhci_hcd fails to load with acpi=off

Hello list,

I'm having problems getting my USB3 controller to work. My situation might be a bit special, because I'm NOT using ACPI in my kernel (which is important for some reason); so maybe this cannot work? The dmesg output after loading the xhci_hcd driver looks like this (kernel version is the latest prepatch of the 3.1 kernel (rc8):

Is there a way to get this running without enabling ACPI?
