I've seen a report that uhci can cause oopses when unloaded in an older
SUSE enterprise kernel as memory is still being used by the host
controller device after the module is unloaded from the system.  At
first glance I didn't find any patches that resolved the issue in
mainline, but I might have missed them.

If you are curious, I can dig up the bug report.
