It's indeed not clear why you needed to rebase his fix atop of your cleanups. It's not how the things are applied normally -- cleanups are merged during the short merge window, while the fixes are merged all the time.

Then there should be the line "From: Sebastian Andrzej Siewior <his email>" at the start of the patch, else you'll be recorded as a patch author by git.

that fixes an interrupt problem, modified to apply after my patch series has been applied:

You didn't sign off the patch (I guess the was author's signoff on the original patch?).
   And the text should be wrapped up at 80 chars at least.
