RE: CDROM and hard drive at the same time?

Alan,

Thanks for quick response and confirmation.

Recent updates to Windows XP and Vista have further restricted the autorun/autoplay capabilities of USB hard drives. Now, when a user connects a USB hard drive they no longer get the option to run an executable (when specified in an autorun.inf file). However, if CD-ROM is connected/loaded the user is still allowed to run the exe specified in an autorun.inf file.

Basically, it will be a better user experience if the user then doesn't have to open a folder, navigate to the executable and run it.

Thanks again,
Robert Murphy

No, it's still not possible and I have no plans to change it. Of
course, if you or anyone else wants to make the necessary changes,
they are free to do so. It shouldn't be terribly hard to do.

Out of curiosity, why do you want this capability?
