Okay, it looks like the device has another bug.  To work around it, 
change the line listed above in the patch to say:

+		US_FL_BULK_IGNORE_TAG | US_FL_MAX_SECTORS_64 ),

In other words, add in the US_FL_MAX_SECTORS_64 flag.
