possible regression dmesg

Hello,

The above patch *may* have caused a regression on my system. I have a
thunderbolt dock and if I disconnect it during suspend of my laptop (Dell XPS13
plus) the laptop fails to resume. The laptop is alive but userspace processes
do not resumme. The only way I've managed to fix this is to put the laptop
back to sleep, then the following resume starts userspace processes.

Attached is a dmesg with pci_dbg messages enabled.

Thanks,
Matt
