Well, that's not the problem; that was added (er, removed) in 2.6.32, and I've been doing most of my testing with 2.6.31.stable kernels. (Currently back to running the Ubuntu 9.10 standard 2.6.31 kernel.) I tried to bisect the problem earlier and chased it back to 2.6.27, but I haven't done that again since I moved off the second layer of PCIe bridge chips.
