Debugging problems with USB3 SATA dock

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hey,

I ran into some problems with a non-UAS USB3 SATA dock I've had for
about a decade in that it simply refuses to work on my system's USB3
ports, constantly connecting and disconnecting.

I used some 5.17, and some current git trunk kernels. It refuses to
work in the USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.1 Gen 2 front ports on my system,
but works correctly when plugged in through a USB 2 port at the back of
my desktop.

Dock identifies as "04c5:201d".

The same dock/HDD combo also works correctly when plugged in to a
MacBook Air running macOS.

What info would I need to get to debug this issue?

Cheers
