Hi:
I am using Dell Wirless 5530 (Ericsson F3507g) card on kernel 2.6.31. And found that /dev/ttyACM0 can not be accessed.
Command:
   cat /dev/ttyACM0
Result is :
   cat: /dev/ttyACM0: Input/output error

I opened debug in cdc_acm.c and got below message:

[ 102.138299] drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: Entering acm_tty_open.
[ 102.138907] drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: disconnected from network

BTW:
The related devices exported from sys is listed:

/sys/class/usb/cdc-wdm1/device/interface : Dell Wireless 5530 HSPA Mobile Broadband Minicard PC SC Port

I am using linux-2.6.31 official release from kernel git tree
I did not meet the issue on 2.6.30 kernel and my FC10 kernel 2.6.27.5-117.fc10.i686

Some one can help on this?
Thanks!
