I can pinpoint it to my imation 320 gb portable hdd. I tried with other drives and they are working fine. I tried changing the cable but that also didnt work. But the thing is that even though it takes some time for the kernel to detect the drive I ca use it with full ehci_hcd speed without any hitch.
