Hi,
A friend of mine is using a Franklin CDU-680 to get online. This device
also presents itself as a storage device and needs to be switched to
modem mode before it works. After that it works well with the cdc-acm
module.
To switch the modem into modem mode, a program is provided by the
vendor. This program however requires the storage device (/dev/sd?) to
be passed to it instead of just the USB vendor & product IDs.
The source of a program which supposedly does the same thing, is here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=4326169&postcount=7
Is it likely modem-modeswitch application would also work for this
device? I didn't see it's vendor & product IDs included in the rules file.
Otherwise, would it be possible to add support for it?
In case this is difficult, could someone suggest a udev rule which
allows the usage of the original program?
Thanks in advance,
Julius
