Distribution kernels generally configure usbmon by default. You don't need to install anything special to use it, provided it is configured in the kernel. In your case, you would just have to do: modprobe usbmon mount -t debugfs none /sys/kernel/debug cat /sys/kernel/debug/usb/usbmon/4u >usb4.out
I use Gentoo, so there is no "distribution kernel". I've a manually configured kernel, statically linked (no module loader) and quite minimal (no USB_MON, no DEBUG_FS, ...). So it needs some reconfiguration and a rebuild. -- Prof. Dr. Klaus Kusche Private address: Rosenberg 41, 07546 Gera, Germany +49 365 20413058 klaus.kusche@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://www.computerix.info Office address: DHGE Gera, Weg der Freundschaft 4, 07546 Gera, Germany +49 365 4341 306 klaus.kusche@xxxxxxx https://www.dhge.de
