I also have a same webcam(C930E) and it is OK with my kernel (4.10.0-28-generic). - connect webcam -> run Cheese --> disconnect while Cheese is running --> It's fine (just spamming kernel warning about sysfs remove - It's already fix in 4.12) Philipp. If you have a reproducible scenario, tell me.
